In His Presence 3: Hungry, Holy, and Humble

One of my greatest desires as your pastor is that you don’t live a divided life.

I don’t want you to experience God only on Sundays and then struggle through the rest of the week. I want your home filled with the presence of God. I want you to know how to walk with Him daily.

The question is: “How do we experience the manifested presence of God in everyday life?”

It starts with three things:

  1. Hungry.

  2. Holy.

  3. Humble.

Hunger Brings His Presence

Jesus said:

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness…” — Matthew 5:6

God goes where He is wanted.

If we want more of God, we must cultivate spiritual hunger.

One of the greatest ways to stir that hunger is through the Word of God. Scripture creates desire. The more you read the Bible, the more you want the Bible.

Prayer also builds hunger.

There are days you won’t feel like praying, but feelings follow action. If you’ll begin praying anyway, your spirit will begin to awaken.

We also create hunger by remembering God’s goodness.

When I think about all the times God protected me, provided for me, healed me, and guided me, it makes me want more of Him.

And finally, hunger grows when we remove distractions.

Too many people are spiritually full of social media, entertainment, and noise. We must make room for revelation.

Holiness Is a Process

Holiness does not mean perfection.

Holiness means separation.
Dedication.
Consecration.

It means becoming more like Christ every day.

The Christian life is a process called sanctification. From the moment we are saved until the day we meet Jesus, God is shaping us, renewing us, and transforming us.

The world should see a difference in us.

Jesus said:

“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8

Purity comes before power.

When we walk closely with God, we begin seeing Him move in our lives. Scripture becomes alive. Wisdom increases. Discernment grows.

That’s why we must prepare our hearts before we ever walk into church.

Humility Unlocks Growth

Second Chronicles 7:14 says:

“If my people… will humble themselves and pray…”

Humility means being teachable, correctable, and moldable.

God is more interested in who we are becoming than simply what we are doing.

The will of God is not just about location or career. The will of God is that we become more like Christ.

Every day we should be:

  • Less conformed to the world

  • More transformed by God

  • More surrendered to His process

That’s the journey of spiritual growth.

Leading From His Presence

This week, ask yourself:

  • Am I hungry for more of God?

  • What distractions are draining my spiritual appetite?

  • Is there an area of compromise God wants me to surrender?

  • Am I remaining teachable and humble?

God wants to do more in your life than you’ve ever imagined.

But His presence is attracted to hungry, holy, humble people.

And when you pursue His presence, everything begins to change.
