Never Forget the One | Pt.2
One of the greatest privileges God has given me is the ministry of reconciliation. Before I am a pastor, teacher, leader, or anything else, I am called to help connect people to God.
The same is true for every believer.
Many people assume sharing their faith is only for preachers or outgoing personalities. Nothing could be further from the truth. God has given every one of us a ministry and a message. That message is simply our story.
I do not have to know every Bible verse. I do not need all the answers. I can tell people what my life was like before I met Christ, how I met Him, and how my life has changed because of Him.
That story has power.
Scripture calls us ambassadors for Christ. An ambassador represents the kingdom they belong to. As believers, our citizenship is in Heaven, and we represent Jesus wherever we go.
The people around us may never walk into a church building, but they will watch our lives. They will listen to our words. They will notice how we treat others, how we respond to adversity, and how we live our faith.
Our lives become an open door that points people toward God.
Jesus attracted people that others ignored. The outcasts, the broken, the forgotten, and the rejected were drawn to Him because He offered hope. He welcomed people without approving of their sin. He loved them enough to lead them toward freedom.
That is still our assignment today.
In Luke 15, Jesus told the story of a shepherd who left ninety nine sheep to go after one that was lost. The lesson is clear. God cares about every person. He never gives up on people, and neither should we.
I am thankful someone refused to give up on me.
There was a season in my life when I was heading in the wrong direction. Many people had written me off, but my pastor saw something in me that others did not see. He believed God still had a plan for my life. His faith in me helped change the course of my future.
That experience reminds me that there is always a "one" in our lives.
One family member.
One coworker.
One friend.
One neighbor.
One person everyone else has forgotten.
The question is not whether God wants to reach them. The question is whether I am willing to be His ambassador.
This week, ask God to show you your one. Pray for them. Encourage them. Invite them. Share your story with them.
Never forget the one, because someone once refused to forget you.
