In His Presence 2: The Process of Going Deeper

As your pastor, I want you to grow deeper in your walk with God because Jesus is still the answer.

But getting into God’s presence does not happen automatically.

There’s a process.

You have to be intentional.

Too many believers think church attendance alone will make them spiritually strong. But spiritual growth happens when we prepare our hearts, engage with God, and practice His presence daily.

Stay Until Something Changes

The biblical definition of presence means “face to face.”

Real intimacy with God happens when we stop rushing and learn to linger.

Most people leave too quickly.

We pray for a moment, glance at a Scripture, and move on. But transformation happens when we stay in His presence long enough for something to shift.

Stay there until:

  • Peace replaces anxiety

  • Joy replaces heaviness

  • Clarity replaces confusion

  • Revelation replaces frustration

That’s what it means to seek His face.

In His Presence Is Joy

Psalm 16:11 says:

“In thy presence is fullness of joy…”

Life drains all of us. Leadership drains us. Stress drains us.

That’s why we must continually plug back into the presence of God.

Joy is spiritual strength.

And faith works together with joy.

Revelation Comes in His Presence

Faith is built on revelation knowledge.

You cannot live off somebody else’s revelation. You must get your own revelation from God.

That’s why reading the Bible is more than a routine. We stay in the Word until the light comes on.

In His presence:

  • Direction becomes clear

  • Wisdom increases

  • Truth replaces lies

  • God reveals His will for your life

The Process Jesus Gave Us

Jesus said:

“Come unto me…”

That’s salvation.

Then He said:

“Take my yoke upon you…”

That’s discipleship.

Then He said:

“…learn of me.”

That’s spiritual growth.

Come. Take. Learn.

That’s the process.

The Christian life is built through daily spiritual habits:

  • Prayer

  • Worship

  • Reading the Word

  • Serving

  • Growing

You must master the ordinary.

Leading From His Presence

This week, stop rushing your time with God.

Slow down. Linger. Listen. Stay there until something changes.

Because when you get in His presence, everything begins to change.
