faith that keeps moving forward
One of the most important things I can tell you is this: your faith should never stop growing.
At Church on the Rock, we’re a place where your faith can grow. Not just emotional hype. Not just inspiration for a moment. Real Bible faith that helps you overcome storms, move mountains, and live the life God created you to live.
The Bible says:
“This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.” - 1 John 5:4
That means I was born to overcome. I was not born again to live defeated, discouraged, fearful, anxious, or stuck. God put something on the inside of me that gives me the ability to rise above the challenges of life.
But faith does not grow accidentally.
Strong faith is intentional.
I’ve learned there are different levels of faith. The Bible talks about no faith, little faith, weak faith, strong faith, and even great faith. And the good news is this: my faith can grow from one level to the next.
That’s why I have to feed my faith every day.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Not “heard.” Hearing. Continually hearing the Word.
If I want strong faith, I can’t live disconnected from God’s Word all week long and expect victory when pressure comes. Faith grows when I consistently hear, speak, and apply God’s promises in my life.
One of the things I love about faith is this: faith removes limitations.
The children of Israel limited God because of unbelief. And if I’m not careful, unbelief will limit what God wants to do in my life too. But when I choose to trust God, believe His Word, and stay in faith, limitations begin to come off my life.
That’s why I encourage people all the time: keep feeding your faith and doubting your doubts.
Faith has a cycle.
‣ Faith hears.
‣ Faith speaks.
‣ Faith acts.
‣ Faith rejoices.
‣ Faith stands.
‣ And faith receives.
Faith speaks because my words matter. If my faith doesn’t move my mouth, it won’t move my mountain. I can’t talk fear all day and expect faith results. I have to put God’s Word in my mouth.
Faith acts because faith is never passive. Sometimes I have to act like God is working before I ever see the breakthrough. That’s not pretending. That’s faith.
Faith rejoices because real faith has joy connected to it. Faith is a happy trust in God. Even while I’m waiting, I can rejoice knowing God is working behind the scenes.
And faith stands.
There will always be moments between praying and receiving where I’m tempted to quit. But faith keeps standing. Faith keeps believing. Faith keeps worshiping. Faith keeps moving forward even when circumstances haven’t changed yet.
I believe God wants to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think. But I also believe it’s according to our faith.
So this year, I’m going to keep growing.
I’m going to keep hearing the Word.
I’m going to keep speaking the Word.
I’m going to keep acting in faith.
And I’m going to keep moving forward.
