Build a life that last

One of the greatest decisions I can make is deciding what I’m going to build my life on.

Everybody builds something. Some people build careers. Some build businesses. Some build families. Some build ministries. But the real question is not just what I’m building. It’s what I’m building on.

Jesus said the wise man builds his house on the rock. Storms still come. Pressure still comes. Challenges still come. But when my life is built on God’s Word, I become unshakable.

I’ve learned over the years that hearing the Word is not enough. Growth happens when I apply the Word. Real spiritual maturity comes when I become a doer of God’s Word, not just a hearer.

That’s why personal spiritual growth has to become a priority in my life.

Real fulfillment does not come from success, status, money, or achievement. Real fulfillment comes from growing on the inside. When I’m spiritually growing, I’m fulfilled. I’m stronger. I’m healthier emotionally. I’m better for the people around me.

Strong faith begins with three things:

  • Knowing who I am in Christ

  • Knowing what I have in Christ

  • Knowing what I can do through Christ

The Bible says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. That means I’m not powerless. I’m not defeated. I’m not stuck. I am equipped by God for every assignment He has placed on my life.

Storms are part of life. Jesus never said “if” storms come. He said “when.” But I don’t have to become a victim when storms hit. I can become stronger through them.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is this: stay a student in the storm.

Instead of asking, “Why is this happening to me?” I need to ask:

  • What can I learn from this?

  • Where can I grow?

  • How can this make me stronger?

As long as I’m learning, I’m growing. And as long as I’m growing, I’m moving forward.

I also have to stay in faith.

Faith is not silent. Faith has a voice. If my faith doesn’t move my mouth, it won’t move my mountain. Jesus taught us to speak to the mountain. That means I have to fill my mouth with God’s promises instead of fear, negativity, and defeat.

This year can be different for me.

But change starts with a decision, followed by action, fulfilled through commitment and resolve. I can choose today to build my life on the Rock and become the person God created me to be.
