How to Take Charge of Your Life

Every person is going to be controlled by something.

If you do not take charge of your life, something else will. Your circumstances will. Your emotions will. Other people will. The question is not whether something will influence your life. The question is whether you will allow God to lead it.

Scripture teaches us that when people refuse to come before the Lord in worship, the rain stops. In the Bible rain represents the presence of God, the power of God, the favor of God, and the blessings of God. Worship positions us under that rain.

When we worship God, we step into a place where His presence and His blessing can flow into our lives.

Psalm 67 tells us that when the people praise the Lord, the earth yields its increase and God blesses them. Praise releases increase. Praise invites blessing.

Praise Is the Voice of Faith

Many people only understand one side of faith. They ask God for things in prayer, but they never move into praise.

Prayer asks. Praise takes.

Praise is the voice of faith declaring that God has already heard, that God is already moving, and that God will bring the answer to pass. Praise is often the final step of faith before the manifestation of what we believe for.

When you begin to praise God, you are not ignoring your situation. You are putting God above your situation.

Praise Takes Charge of Your Inner Life

Praise has power over the areas where many people lose control.

Praise takes charge of your emotions.
Praise takes charge of your thoughts.
Praise redirects your focus back to God.

Instead of letting fear speak, praise speaks. Instead of letting discouragement dominate your thinking, praise fills your heart with faith.

Praise quiets the voice of the enemy.

Psalm 8 teaches that strength comes out of our mouths through praise. That praise silences the enemy and the avenger. When praise fills your mouth, the enemy loses his platform.

Praise Invites the Presence of God

Psalm 22 says that God inhabits the praises of His people.

When people begin to praise God, something supernatural happens. It is as though God pulls up a chair and sits down in the middle of their life. His presence begins to invade the situation.

Praise shifts us out of the natural and into the supernatural. It pulls down the strongholds of the enemy and releases the activity of God.

Choose to Take Charge

You cannot control every situation in life. But you can control your response.

You can choose faith.
You can choose worship.
You can choose praise.

When you choose praise, you are choosing to take charge of your life under the leadership of God. You are positioning yourself under the rain of His presence, His power, and His blessing.

And when the rain of God falls on your life, increase will always follow.
