God's Blueprint for Prosperity:
Top 10 Scriptures Every Leader Should Know
Welcome, friends! I’m Pastor David Blunt, and I’m so excited to share something close to my heart with you today: God’s plan for your prosperity.
In this worksheet, I walk you through my top 10 favorite scriptures that have shaped the way I think about finances, faith, and leadership.
Why You Need Your Own Favorite Scriptures
Over the years as a pastor and leader, people have often asked me, "Pastor, what are your favorite scriptures for different areas of life?" Let me tell you — having go-to scriptures makes all the difference.
When challenges come — whether in your family, health, peace of mind, or finances — you need a strong foundation to stand on. God's Word gives us the strength, direction, and faith we need for victory.
My love for scripture started early, thanks to my mom. I can still picture her at the kitchen table with her Bible and devotional open. When I was in college, she would mail me cards filled with her favorite verses — and those words kept me grounded. That legacy continues to fuel my life and ministry today.
God's True Definition of Prosperity
Let’s set the record straight: when I talk about prosperity, I’m not talking about materialism.
Prosperity, according to God’s Word, simply means having everything you need to fulfill everything God has called you to do — with enough left over to be a blessing to others.
God doesn't mind us having things, but He does mind if things have us. I’ll never forget the time He challenged me to give away a brand-new Harley-Davidson motorcycle. That moment proved something powerful: when you can give it away, it doesn’t have you.
Standing on the Promises of God
The Bible is clear — prosperity is part of God’s plan for His children.
When you look at verses like 3 John 2, where it says, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers," it’s not wishful thinking. It’s a promise.
In this episode, I walk you through other life-changing scriptures like:
Psalm 35:27 – God delights in your prosperity.
Deuteronomy 8:18 – He gives you the power to get wealth.
Joshua 1:8 – Meditate on His Word, and you will make your way prosperous.
God didn’t promise a money tree in your backyard, but He did promise to give you wisdom, skills, favor, and opportunities if you seek Him first.
